Right bounce PDF Print E-mail
Wedges have different amounts of bounce on them. The bounce is how much the back edge is below the front edge. You need a lot of bounce to help you in a bunker and a little bounce of a tight lie. If you have a lot of bounce on a tight lie the front edge sits up and you will thin the ball. Yet the same club helps in the sand as it allows the club to skid through the sand. On Vokey wedges the numbers after the . indicate the bounce. As a general rule, the more lofted the club the less bounce you need. You can see my 60 has only .04 bounce yet my 54 has a lot more. I would recommend you get the right bounce on your wedges as it makes life much easier around the greens.
